good questions.
-
What if I hate having my photo taken?
Most of my clients say that before we start. It’s fine. We’ll go at your pace, I’ll tell you what’s working, and we’ll find something that feels like you rather than a performance of you.
-
How do I book a session?
Fill out the contact form and I’ll get back to you within 48 hours.
-
Where are you based, and do you travel?
I’m based in Hamilton and offer sessions in Hamilton, Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo, St. Catharines, Niagara, Guelph, Brantford, London, and across Ontario. I’m also happy to travel domestically and abroad. Travel fees may apply but will always be discussed upfront when we’re planning your session.
-
How much does it cost?
We’ll talk about pricing once I know more about what you’re looking for and your situation. Sliding scale rates are available — I believe everyone deserves to have their picture taken, and I’ll always do what I can to make it work.
-
Do you shoot film?
Yes! I shoot digital, film, and instant film. Film has a different quality than digital: grain, warmth, and a certain permanence. It also requires developing and scanning, which adds some additional cost. If you want film coverage specifically, mention it when you reach out.
-
How long until I get my photos?
In general, I aim to get edited photos to you within 2–4 weeks. I’ll always be upfront about the expected turnaround when we’re planning your shoot, and I’ll communicate if anything changes.
-
Do you provide RAW files?
No. You’ll receive fully edited images in high resolution JPEG. Every photo I deliver is edited by me personally.
-
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
I’m a queer photographer, so yes — in the fullest sense. You won’t have to explain your relationship structure, ask me to use the right words, or wonder whether the pictures will look like you. See the LGBTQ+ Photography page for more.
-
What happens if the weather is bad?
For outdoor sessions, we’ll assess together closer to the date. Light rain or overcast skies often make for better portraits than bright sun. If we need to reschedule, we’ll find a new date that works. I’ll always be flexible on weather.
